Technology Standards and Components SSL VPN DEVELOPED WITH STANDARDS BASED COMPONENTS SIMPLIFIES SSL ACCELERATOR AND OTHER HARDWARE INTEGRATION, COMPATIBILITY AND PORTABILITY. The AccessPoint SSL VPN software is based on an industry standard platform and includes widely available libraries and components. This architecture simplifies the integration of AccessPoint with other hardware and software products. Some of the software modules used or leveraged by AccessPoint are shown below. Linux The AccessPoint software was designed for the Linux operating system and the binary software runs on Red Hat Linux 8.0. Linux is a secure, reliable operating system, and because of its widespread adoption, it is constantly being updated with the latest technologies. AccessPoint has also been ported to other widely used operating systems, including xBSD and Solaris as well as embedded platforms. OpenSSL The AccessPoint SSL tunnel software relies on the robust SSL and TLS protocols provided by the OpenSSL Project. The OpenSSL SSL and TLS protocols are widely used, tested, and supported by most SSL acceleration hardware. Apache A modified version of the Apache web server is included with the Menlo Logic SSL VPN toolkit. Apache is the most widely used web server software on the Internet on the Internet, according to the Netcraft Web Server Survey. The Apache web server is a secure, efficient and extensible server that supports the current HTTP protocol standards. mod_ssl The Apache web server bundled with AccessPoint includes the mod_ssl package which provides strong cryptography to the Apache server. |
